The Road They Travelled

This quilt was custom made as a wedding present. Each image along the road represents something about the young couple who met at Providence College.  The road leads to the big wedding day!

Bling Thing

The blocks for this were made as demonstration blocks at the Minnesota Road Show at Quilting Adventures. After the demos I made a few more blocks and finished the quilt!  I added the "Vintage Diamonds"  blocks to the border of "The Bling Thing." The blocks are from books by Heather Mulder Peterson.

The Green Lantern
T-Shirt Quilt

This was made for my husband who is a comic book fan. "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight"

This baby quilt uses the same kaleidoscope 4 patch technique as the Kensington Kaleidoscope

Kensington Kaleidoscope

This pattern is by "Quilt Moments"

Under the Tulips

Hand Appliqué using the starch method as explained in Linda Hohag’s book “Critter Caboodle.”

Rick Rack Stack Table Runner

This is from the book “The Sweet Life” by Heather Mulder Peterson

Strawberry Shortcake

This project is from the book "The Sweet Life" by Heather Mulder Peterson.

Kaleido-Angle Quilt

I used the same ruler as from the Kaleidoscope Star quilt to make this baby quilt.

Kaleidoscope Star Quilt

This quilt is from the book Kaleidoscope ABC's using the Marti Michell Kaleido-Ruler.

September Roses Quilt

This is from the book "Bloomers" by Linda Hohag

Bed Runner

This project is from the book "Let the Good Times Roll" by Heather Mulder Peterson"  It uses jelly rolls and charm squares to make the blocks that end up on point.

Irish Chain Zoo

This is my son's quilt.  He loves animals.  I started with the border fabric then found paper pieced animals to fill create his zoo!

Memory Quilt

This quilt is a memory quilt for a little boy who had brain cancer.  Many of the blocks are made of pajama pants which has mad this a very soft and cuddly quilt.  I included the label details because we used his pants pocket to hold the label.

GHS Drama T-shirt Quilt

The shirts in this quilt are from the plays done by the Goochland High School Drama Club over the past few years.

Hummingbird Purse

I made this for my grandmother on the first evening of my quilt guild's annual retreat.  It is a paper-pieced bird from "Backyard Bird Quilts" by Jodie Davis that I machine quilted.

Irish Lace

This pattern was is "Quiltmaker" Magazine.  The individual blocks went together quickly, but it was a challenge to match some of the angled points.  I still need to quilt it.

Classic Kaleidoscope Quilt

This is a quilt from Marti Michell's book "Kaleidoscope ABC'S."  I made it to try out the "Kaleido-Ruler."  It was made with fabric from a kit for the Virginia Memorial Project.

Double Irish Chain

I made this quilt to be raffled off by the Goochland Christmas Mother in 2008.  The raffle raised over $2000 for the Christmas Mother Program!

"Purse-sonality"

This one is for me!  I finally have downsized from a diaper bag and this is just the right size for everything I need to carry now!

"Purse-sonality"

The first one was so much fun I made a few more.

"To the Point" Mystery Quilt

I am making this for my niece who likes blue.  It was a Country Piecemakers' quilt guild mystery in a day program... now it is ready to be quilted!
Green Squares

This quilt is for my nephew who likes green.  It is a pattern I made up using a selection of fat quarters.  It has one inch squares surrounded by two inch squares, then tree, four, and five... Than I went around again starting with the one inch squares again!

Log Cabin Quilt

The quilt guild I am a member of made a Log Cabin quilt as a group charity project.  After seeing how it was done, I just had to make one of my own.  The top is done and I plan to machine quilt it as soon as I can.

Hansel and Gretel

The center of this quilt is machine appliquéd. It is based on a coloring book illustration from the story of Hansel and Gretel. I included birds eating the breadcrumb trail around the outer border!  It was custom made for Ariel as a Christmas gift from her mother.
Little Red Riding Hood

The center of this quilt is machine appliquéd. Is is based on an illustration from a story book of Little Red Riding Hood. I added 3-dimentional red flowers in the outer border to represent the flowers Little Red Riding Hood picks for Granny.  It is being custom made for Bella as a Christmas Gift from her mother.

Mystery Quilt

This quilt was completed as a mystery- you don't know what it looks like until it is finished.  I made the same pattern 10 years ago, and wanted to make a new one because I knew I could do a much better job now.  Members of my quilt guild joined in on the mystery.  You can see their quilts at www.countrypiecemakers.org

Blazing Star Quilt

I made this king sized quilt for my bed. It is machine pieced using templates and all hand quilted. I backed it with an extra layer to use as a duvet cover, but it is warm enough without my down comforter inside!

Blazing Star Quilt

I entered the quilt in my guild's show.  It won "Best Display Quilt" in 2005.

A Year of Baskets

A local quilt shop had a block of the month project and this is how my quilt turned out! It was machine pieced and hand quilted!

Quilted Sweatshirt Jacket - Front

I love the colors in this! I made this after taking a class through my quilt guild. The base is a sweatshirt, but you really can't tell!

Quilted Sweatshirt Jacket - Back

The back of the jacket is as beautiful as the front!

Fractured Butterflies

I read instructions on how to make Fractured Blocks in my American Quilter's Society Magazine and I just had to try it!

Log Cabin Tote

I made a few extra log cabin blocks while I was working on a quilt (still in progress) and decided to make a couple of tote bags.  They are made the same except the quilting-- this one is quilted with diagonal lines.

Log Cabin Tote II

I quilted this tote by sewing inside each "log" one quarter inch from the seams.  The quilting makes it very different from the first one. Both are machine quilted.

Friendship Stars

My quilt guild donates baby quilts to a local hospital for the babies in intensive care. This was made for them!

Floral Tote bag

My quilt guild had a class on how to make this great quilted tote bag... This is the first of all the tote bags I have made.

Star Tote Bag

The center star is paper pieced and has too many pieces. It was fun, but I don't think I'll make another one like this!

Nativity

Another great class from my quilt guild. The design is cut from a solid piece of black fabric, fused in place, then machine stitched.

Football Tee Shirt Quilt

This tee shirt quilt is made of Football team logos.  I added the football block to balance the space. I quilted yard lines along the outer border.

Bird Houses

The houses and cardinal are paper pieced.  The tree is hand appliquéd.   It is machine quilted. I attached jute twine to "hang" two of the birdhouses.

Goochland Fire Welcome Sign

I made this special to give as a door prize to the Goochland Fire Fighters at their annual dinner! The truck and letters are paper pieced. It was machine quilted.

Nathaniel's Quilt

I made this the year my son turned three.  Each trailer is a fabric of something he likes: dinosaurs, tractors, tools, Star Wars... The cab has a photo transfer of a family member driving each truck!

Nathaniel's Quilt

Here is a close up of one truck.  His Great Grandfather is driving the Tool Truck!

Nathaniel's Quilt

Nathaniel is driving this "Sesame Street" truck  himself!

Quilted Fabric Panel

Another quilt for the babies... good chance to practice hand quilting!

Robert's Quilt

I made this for Nathaniel's friend Robert.  The small vehicles are paper pieced.  The center airplane is appliquéd. I used the flying kite block around the airplane.

Squares That Go

I used my left over fabric after making "Robert's Quilt" to make this crib sized quilt.  The transportation fabric is great for a little boy's room!
